Anyone who has recently applied for a new passport may have noticed that the new format requires them to sign the passport on the page before the photo page. Previously, the holder's signature was digitally placed on the photo page.
A passport in the new format is not valid unless it is signed. Anyone needing a notarised copy of their passport needs to ensure that this is done as the Foreign Office legalisation department will not legalise an unsigned copy!
